What’s new: Allied Health Services

We are excited to announce the expansion of the Changepain rehabilitation space. The over 3000 + square-foot active rehab space is immersed in natural light, views of nature, and modern rehabilitation equipment.

Our Allied health team are excited to guide you through this space. We anticipate that you will be pleasantly surprised by our new equipment, including a Pilates Reformer and adaptable resistance equipment.

For this reason please come prepared by dressing appropriately.  Please note due to the advanced nature of the space,  a general liability form will be reviewed with you before you enter.

What’s new: Medical Services

We are pleased to inform you that RFL will be performed on site at our Gilmore location! You will no longer need to go to False Creek Centre after January 2, 2024.

There is still an upgrade fee of $300.00 which covers the costs of medications (local anesthesia, steroids, anti-inflammatories or phenol compounds) and specialized equipment used to deliver the service. This is not covered by MSP.

No PPE is required

Medical Clinic Side

Before entering the medical core,  you will be given personal protective equipment  (PPE) booties and  hairnet to wear and  your name label by the medical clinic reception team.

Why is specific attire required?

As a newly accredited facility, changepain meets the highest College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC) Standards for Pain Clinics for safety and infection control.

When accessing services on the medical side, at check-in you will be given disposable Personal Protective Equipment PPE consisting of shoe covers to wear over your footwear and a hairnet. This is to limit particles such as hair, dirt or dander in the medical clinic.   If you need assistance to put on the attire, our team is happy to assist you.

When you are accessing services on the allied health side, you are not required to wear PPE. However, we encourage you to bring an extra pair of clean footwear and appropriate clothing for use of the gym and rehabilitation space.

What if I cannot travel to Burnaby?

If you are unable to join us at the new space for various reasons, you are welcome to continue your care with changepain through virtual one-on-one appointments or our online Group Medical Visits.

If virtual care does not work for you, please work with your changepain clinician or Family Doctor to ensure a smooth transition of care back to the community.

Can I bring family members? What about interpreters?

Depending on the waiting room volume, we may ask that your family member or support companion wait outside until your appointment is completed, unless they are required to join you for translating or support purposes.
